Doug Whitten and his wife Judy have spent 46 years in Lakewood, the last 40 years in the Southern Gables area of Lakewood. Doug is currently the President of the Southern Gables Neighborhood Association, a position he has held for 4 years.
In addition, he is on the Boards of the South Lakewood Business Association, Lakewood Forward, and the Green Gables Elementary School Accountability Committee. His proudest educational experience was as an Assistant Principal at the Warren Occupational-Technical Center where he assisted in the planning and implementation of that great school. Doug is committed to neighbor/neighborhood building where residents become involved and engaged in their community by working with all organizations with in community.

Besides representing Farmers Insurance, he also is affiliated with several independent brokerage firms. Bruce specializes in finding a solution to any insurance need that arises.

Whitney has lived in Lakewood almost her entire life and is a graduate of Bear Creek High School. She has worked for White Fence Farm since the age of 14 in a variety of positions and is currently a Hospitality Manager. Before stepping into management, she worked as an interior designer and earned her degree in Interior Design at Arapahoe Community College. Whitney joined SLBA in 2012 is excited to aid the Lakewood community.

Karen has been in the health insurance and employee benefits business since December, 1979. She opened her own independent agency in June of 1986. She is an active member in several professional organizations, and has been a member of a task force for health care. She offers educational seminars to update business groups, her clients and other business on the new health care legislation. Karen believes service is the most important item we sell, and she will work with you to determine the level of service you need and want for your company. Since she is an independent agent, she can find several alternatives for you to consider.
Sue has lived in the Lakewood area since graduating from the University of Northern Colorado. She taught in Jeffco schools for several years and then worked in real estate in the metro area. She helped form Alameda Gateway Community Association (AGCA) and was an active member of the group that brought the first Boys and Girls Club to Jeffco. She was instrumental in forming a 501©(3) named All Comforting Things (ACT). She currently serves on The Employee Money Purchase Pension Plan Retirement Board for the city of Lakewood. She is a director for SLBA, AGCA, Ralston House and formerly served as a director for West Metro Fire Rescue. She currently volunteers with the Lakewood Police Department and the Jeffco Boys and Girls club.

Robert is Economic Development Manager for the City of Lakewood, CO. With twenty-five plus years of marketing, business attraction, communications and economic development experience, he has previously served key roles in Colorado communities including Douglas County, Aurora, Thornton and Brighton.
Robert is a Colorado native, raised in the Denver Metro area. After graduating from Northglenn High School, he received his Bachelor’s Degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver.

Having moved to Lakewood to attend Colorado Christian University in 1986, Robert has remained a Lakewood resident for most of the 31 years since, and has lived in south Lakewood for the past 12 years. Prior to becoming a Realtor, he was a teacher for 15 years and a principal for 3 years, always working in private non-profit high schools, exclusively serving high-risk youth. More recently, he found an incredibly enjoyable opportunity to lend his education skills through volunteering with the Colorado Refugee English as a Second Language program at the Emily Griffith School of Technology.
